Reflecting on Our Recent Initiatives and Looking Ahead

Over the past year, Rise in Resiliency (RR) has remained steadfast in our commitment to serving and uplifting the Indigenous communities of Mokufitey and Tsirikbata. While faced with transportation challenges from March to August, as our vehicle required extensive repairs, our dedication to these communities only grew stronger upon our return.

August marked our reconnection with Dos Ramas, where we offered vital resources such as food supplies, building materials, and sturdy boots essential for traversing the mountainous terrain. Subsequently, we continued our support by providing machetes, pet food and filing tools to each household within the 17-household member settlement. Additionally, we proudly organized and donated new football jerseys to Tsirikbata and Mokufitey, fostering a sense of community pride during their sports engagements.

At each visit, we ensure to provide a meal for every family, striving to offer ongoing support between our visits. Our commitment lies not just in sporadic donations but in sustained assistance to these households.

During the transportation hiatus, the loss of access to the cow corral, where meetings were held, prompted a new initiative. Presently, we're actively engaged in constructing a meeting space halfway down the mountain. This space will serve as a skill-building workshop area, provide resting spots for elders, and offer a place with electricity for community members to create their art within the community.

Excitement abounds within our team as we embark on this new chapter, and we're eager to share the entire process with our audience. Through our documentation, we aim to provide an inside look into the development of this essential space.

RR remains dedicated to amplifying the voices of the Indigenous communities, consistently aligning our initiatives with their expressed needs. We find honor and privilege in the opportunity to serve and support these remarkable communities.

As we continue on this journey, we invite you to stay tuned and subscribe to our updates. Together, let's witness the impact of our collective efforts in fostering resilience and empowerment within these Indigenous communities.
